************************* The Algoma Community Legal Clinic - 25th anniversary and annual general meeting
The Algoma Community Legal Clinic is celebrating its 25th anniversary on Wednesday, October 21 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Windsor Park Ballroom.
The public is invited to attend.
The evening starts out with the clinic’s annual general meeting at 5 p.m., followed by a play put on by the Soup Kitchen called In My Shoes, and then a social/meet-and-greet.
The Legal Clinic will have displays set up showing some of our many achievements.
Various community agencies will also have displays.
The Legal Clinic, a non-profit organization funded by Legal Aid Ontario, provides free legal advice and representation to eligible clients in areas of law such as disability pensions, Ontario Works, Criminal Injuries Compensation and Tenant Protection.
In the last 25 years, the clinic staff has assisted over 55,000 people with summary advice, representation at tribunal hearings and/or referrals to other community agencies.
