Look who'll represent the Sault at Vans Warped Tour!

What do you get when you cross two turkeys with a punk surfer?

Dustin Jones and the Rising Tide, of course.

The Sault's own celtic rock trio consists of Marshall and Sheldon Jaaskelainen of Wild Turkey fame, and front man Dustin Jones from the Inner City Surfers.

And just today, the boys have discovered that determination and hard work can definitely pay off.

Dustin Jones and the Rising Tide have been added to the vast lineup on the two Canadian dates for the Vans Warped Tour.

"I just found out and I can't believe it," Jones told SooToday.com. "The boys are really stoked. This is so exciting."

Managed by Darrin Pfeiffer (drummer for Goldfinger and The Salads) and Chuck Dailey (bass player for The Salads), The Rising Tide's debut self-titled release has been widely distributed to record labels across North America.

"Darrin's been great with getting our record out there," said Jones. "The response has been great and everyone loves it. He knows Kevin Lyman [Vans Warped Tour founder] and managed to get our record to him at the last minute. It seems early to me, but I guess it was kind of late for them. That's why we're only playing two dates."

There has been one consensus among record labels and festival organizers, however.

The Rising Tide needs a drummer.

With that recommendation, The Rising Tide have recently added former Saultite Dan O'Shea (The Marantz Project, SkullKrusher, Hospitals, Downtown Dennis) to man the skins.

The newly updated Dustin Jones and the Rising Tide will perform during the Vans Warped Tour on July 9 at Arrow Hall in Mississauga, Ontario, and Parc Jean-Drapeau in Motreal, Quebec on July 10.
