SAULT STE. MARIE ROTARY NORTH

************************* The fourth draw occurred for the Trip of the Month at the Sault Ste. Marie North Rotary Club meeting.

At the first Wednesday noon hour meeting of each month, there is a draw for one of the 12 trips, as well as two draws for $150 each.

During the month of October, all 600 tickets were sold at a cost of $150 each.

Yesterday, three tickets were drawn by special invitees from the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce, including Shelley Barich, the general manager, and Katherine MacRae, the 2008-09 president.

The first prize drawn was for a trip for two to Rome, Italy, including flights from Sault Ste. Marie return.

The trip is valued at $5,100, but should the recipient choose a travel voucher, the value of that is $4,700.

The second and third draws were for $150 each.

After the draws were made, the three tickets went back into the drum, and sealed by two officials of the Rotary Club, so that all 600 tickets are eligible for the next draws, as well as subsequent ones.

The winners drawn Wednesday were:

Kevin Predon 1st prize - ticket # 0192 - trip: The Splendors of Italy

George Stone & Sons 2nd prize - ticket # 0292 - $150

Nicole Mitchell 3rd prize - ticket # 0046 - $150

The next eight trips include:

- Cozumel Mexico

- Saint John New Brunswick

- Glacier National Park

- Varadero, Cuba

- Punta Cana

- Orlando, Florida

- Banff Ski Holiday, and

- New York City.

Proceeds from this event will be used to help Rotary North Youth oriented projects, such as Send a Kid to Camp, in conjunction with Big Brothers and Big Sisters, a new project supporting Breakfast for Kids in a needy local school, and support of the Algoma Fall Festival Children's education programs.

The Rotary North Club also supports youth exchange, Rotary Leadership Awareness Conference, and academic excellence, that have long been a part of Rotary North's landscape and mission.

Stay tuned for part five on May 6 when the trip to Cozumel, Mexico and two more cash prizes will be drawn.
