Howard Hampton did his part to support the Sault's economy today, by doing some Christmas shopping at the Station Mall.

After a grueling scrum with local media sharks at St. Mary's Paper, the provincial NDP leader slipped over to the mall to catch up on some shopping.

Hampton's two young kids, Sarah and Jonathan, will no doubt like anything that the provincial NDP leader picked for them there.

As for his wife, Nickel Belt MPP Shelley Martel, SooToday.com was unable to confirm whether Hampton was able to work up his nerve to make the mandatory annual male pilgrimage to La Senza.

"Like so many of us at this time of the year, he has just been too busy to take time for shopping," said Tony Martin. "He thought he'd go see what he could find in our mall."
