Congratulations to Terry Folz of Sault Ste. Marie after winning a $500,000 prize with Maxmillions in the May 25, 2018 Lotto Max draw. Terry also won $2 on his Encore selection, bringing his total winnings to $500,002.

“I don’t usually purchase lottery tickets,” Terry shared, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “My significant other encouraged me to buy a ticket for the draw.”

Following the draw, Terry checked his ticket online and saw he won a $2 Encore prize, not realizing his windfall was much larger. “My partner checked it on the OLG Lottery app, and it showed that I had won big!” he laughed. “I checked it again and saw that I matched seven numbers in a row.”

The 54-year old service manager then validated his ticket. “I went back to Pino’s and asked the lady at the counter to check it – there was a whole bunch of zeros,” Terry smiled.

Terry, a father of three boys and two girls, has already purchased the car of his dreams and has plans to buy a small boat to take his dad fishing. “I will also pay off bills, save for retirement and share a portion of my prize with each of the kids.”

“I feel euphoric, elated, relieved and secure,” Terry concluded.

Since its launch in Sept. 2009, Ontario Lotto Max players have won over $4.2 billion in prizes, including 57 jackpot wins and 449 winning Maxmillions tickets from all across the province.

The winning ticket was purchased at Pino’s Get Fresh on Trunk Road in Sault Ste. Marie.
