************************* Traffic stop results in possession of stolen property charge

A traffic stop by a Superior East OPP detachment officer (Wawa office) resulted in the recovery of a stolen trailer from British Columbia.

Police stopped a Dodge Caravan towing a U-Haul trailer on Highway 17 in Teirnan Township on Thursday night at approximately 8:30 p.m.

As a result of an investigation at the scene it was discovered that the trailer that was being towed had been reported stolen from British Columbia.

A 30-year-old man was arrested for possession of stolen property and was held for a bail hearing on the 14th of April.

Robert Hayward Carmount (age 30) of Maple Ridge, British Columbia is charged with:

- possession of stolen property – not exceeding $5,000.

- breach of probation.
