So what kind of weather is headed our way?

Down at the other end of Lake Superior, Channel 11 television is reporting this afternoon that the City of Duluth has been virtually shut down by the paralyzing blizzard that's blown in there from Iowa.

The station reports that up to a foot of snow has fallen in some areas and sustained winds near 50 miles an hour, gusting to 62 miles an hour, have been reported. The Minnesota Department of Transportation is warning people to stay home.

More than 7,000 Minnesota Power customers in the Duluth area have no electricity and Channel 11's competitor on Channel 6 has been forced off the air by a power failure.

Hundreds of vehicles are reported to be off the road around Redwood Falls and Duluth Transit Authority has pulled its buses from the roads.

More snow is expected there.

A gale warning is in effect for Lake Superior, with waves as high as 16 feet expected.
