***************************** Phone service disrupted in James Bay Coast

(JAMES BAY COAST, ON) - A fibre phone line located on the rail line towards Moosonee has been accidentally cut, causing a disruption in long distance phone service in the James Bay coastal area.

Communities affected are Moosonee, Moose Factory, Attawapiskat, Kashechewan, and Fort Albany.

Local phone service remains.

The estimated time of repair is reported to be late this evening to early morning.

In the interim, the public requiring police assistance should call the local OPP and NAPS phone numbers until further notice or attend at the OPP/NAPS detachments.
