Log truck destroyed by fire

OPP - EAST ALGOMA DETACHMENT

************************* (Plummer Additional Township, Ontario) - On January 31, 2007 at approximately 4:45 a.m. the East Algoma – Thessalon OPP were dispatched to a tractor-trailer roll over in the ditch.

The tractor-trailer that was hauling a load of logs had been traveling southbound on Jeffery Road in Plummer Additional Township (east of Bruce Mines, Ontario) when it entered the west ditch and burst into flames.

The driver, Jeffery Scott Connell (23) of Bruce Mines, Ontario was not injured in the collision.

The tractor-trailer, a 2007 International, was destroyed by the fire and has been removed from the scene.

The logs have been transferred to another log truck.

The trailer is in the process of being removed from the collision scene.

Bruce Mines Fire Department attended to extinguish the fire.
