SAULT STE. MARIE FEDERAL CONSERVATIVE ELECTORAL DISTRICT ASSOCIATION

************************* Federal Conservative nomination meeting this Thursday

On Thursday, February 24, 2011, the Federal Conservative Electoral District Association for the riding of Sault Ste. Marie and Area will acclaim former Ward 3 Councillor Bryan Hayes as the Conservative candidate for the next federal election.

The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at the Grand Gardens Hall, formerly the Union Hall, at 68 Dennis Street.

Bryan Hayes was born in Marville, France where his father was stationed as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Having lived in numerous Canadian towns across our country during his childhood Bryan met his wife Aida from Sault Ste. Marie in college and has been actively involved in the community for the past 30 years.

Bryan and Aida have two sons, Kevin and Brandyn.

Hayes holds a holds a marketing honours diploma from Cambrian College, a degree in accounting from Laurentian University and has recently completed his Certified General Accounting professional designation.

Hayes served from 1989-1999 for the Ontario March of Dimes where he worked with adults with physical disabilities, first as business manager for Sault Ste. Marie and then as co-ordinator of financial services for Northern Ontario.

It is here that he became intimately familiar with the social services sector in Sault Ste. Marie and across Northern Ontario.

Bryan is currently a senior financial analyst with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation where he specializes in budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing return-on-investment of business cases, and the financial stability of companies who wish to partner with the OLG.

He has also recently taken the lead finance role on all lottery-related projects.

Bryan’s dedication to community service is vast and includes the following:

- Past city councillor for Ward 3

- 2001 Chair of the United Way Annual Campaign

- Past board member with the District Social Services Administration Board, holding positions as treasurer and secretary

- Past board member with the Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation

- Past chair of the finance committee with Sault Area Hospital Board

- Current board member with the Conservation Authority

- Current board member with the Municipal Heritage Committee

- Current board member of Community Quality Initiative board.

The Sault Ste. Marie Conservative Electoral District Association invites the community to join in this exciting evening with an introduction by Joel Rowswell, son of the former Mayor John Rowswell.
