Local Subway restaurants drop some bread on Sault Area Hospital

On Friday, Oct. 21, every sandwich and salad sold at the seven participating stores led to a $2 donation to support local healthcare here in Sault Ste. Marie.

With all the proceeds added up, local Subway owners are proud to announce that $5,420 has been donated to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation (SAHF) in honour of the support this community has shown to their business over the two and a half decades.

“We are local business owners operating in the community we love. We want to support SAHF for a number of reasons. The Sault Area Hospital (SAH) is where my family goes when we are in need of healthcare. As business owners, it’s also where our staff, colleagues and incredibly supportive customers go. If we want to thank this community for supporting us over the past 25 years, we are going to do so by helping purchase medical equipment to ensure everyone in Sault Ste. Marie can stay local to get top notch care.” Kyle Jones, general manager, Subway Restaurants.

SAHF is continuously working to ensure our community Hospital is equipped with the equipment it needs to deliver excellent care in our community. SAHF is the primary source of funding for medical equipment at SAH, relying on the support and generosity of locals to fund equipment purchases.

Having the appropriate equipment is essential to delivering excellent healthcare and keeping more patients here in Sault Ste. Marie, rather than requiring travel to other Hospitals. Each piece of equipment plays a part in diagnosing, treating or even saving the life of a patient.

SAHF is preparing to launch its ever successful ‘Tree of Hope’ Campaign in the upcoming weeks. Your gift helps bring hope to patients as well as their friends and families. Consider a donation to your community’s healthcare, to your healthcare this holiday season.
