Local musician wins $100,000

TORONTO – William (Bill) Bennett of Sault Ste. Marie is a happy guy after winning $100,000 with ENCORE (January 29, 2016 LOTTO MAX).  

Bill matched six of seven winning numbers on his ENCORE selection.

“I told my boss, ‘I’m going to be late for work!’ when the machine froze and said ‘Big Winner,’” laughed Bill while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “It was such a surreal moment,” he said.

Bill, a 33-year-old musician, shared the good news with his mom. “She was freaking out! It took her a while to eventually calm down,” he smiled.

Bill has a few ideas for his new found fortune. “I’m going to upgrade my instruments and invest in business,” he beamed.

ENCORE can be played in conjunction with most online lottery games for an extra $1.

The winning ticket was purchased at Metallo’s Mini Mart on Northern Avenue in Sault Ste. Marie.
