Local man accused of sex assault

************************* Male arrested for sexual assault

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 21-year-old Kelly Lannigan of 2837 Base Line on the 9th of May at 7:53 p.m. at his residence and charged him with one count of sexual assault.

It is alleged that on the 22nd of April the accused sexually assaulted a female known to him while at a gathering at a West End residence.

The accused is to appear in court on the 13th of June.

************************** Outstanding warrant

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 29-year-old Mark Tamblyn of #103-769 Pine Street at 10:10 a.m. yesterday morning at the police station and charged him with one count of failing to appear for prints.

It is alleged that on the 21st of April, the accused failed to appear for prints at the station with regards to an impaired driving-related charge.

He is to appear in court on the 13th of June.

************************** Outstanding warrant

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 20-year-old Norbert Groulx of 677 Queen Street West on Huron Street and charged him with one count of public mischief.

It is alleged that the accused was wanted for an incident that took place on the 4th of December 2010 when he reported a false incident to the police that lead them into an investigation.

The accused is to appear in court on the 13th of June.

*************************** Break and enters

A residence in the 200 block of Goulais Avenue was entered yesterday at approximately 11:50 a.m. The resident observed a male suspect fleeing the residence. The suspect was described as being Native Canadian, approximately 5’11” wearing a white t-shirt with black checkering, jeans and a black baseball cap. Nothing was reported stolen.

*************************** Mischief reports

- Youth vandalized a building in the 300 block of Bay Street.

- A Third Line East business had some windows broken.
