NEWS RELEASE

PEOPLE FOR THE ETHICAL TREATMENT OF OTHER PEOPLE

************************* At 7:45 p.m. December 22, a secret meeting was held between Mr. X, leader of the group People for the Ethical Treatment of Other People and Crista Taraniuk, owner of the Roosevelt Hotel and the Rosie Moose (shown).

A ransom was paid for the return of the Rosie Moose, for $5222.65 to be donated to the local soup kitchen of Sault Ste. Marie.

The ransom was raised by both business and personal donations on behalf of the “Save The Moose” campaign started by the owner and staff of the Roosevelt Hotel to have their beloved moose returned to them from the kidnappers who stole him weeks before. The good people of Sault Ste. Marie rose to the challenge to such a worthy cause.

Thank you Mike Moore and Son Construction; And-Son Contracting; Soo Screeners; Labatts; Molson Canadian; Boiler Makers Union Local 128; Northern Credit Union, Second Line; Carpenters and Jointers Local 446; The Group Health Centre; The Rosie’s owner and staff, and everyone who contributed in large ways and small to make this Christmas really a time of giving.

As promised The Rosie Moose will be returned in time for Christmas to his rightful place of honour.

And thank you, Sault Ste. Marie!

We’ll see you next year!

- Mr X on behalf of everyone at PETOP
