On June 4, the 28th annual "Gutsy Walk" in support of Crohn’s and Colitis Canada will happen in Sault Ste. Marie at the at Roberta Bondar Pavilion. Registration begins at 10 a.m.

“Gutsy Walk brings people across the country together to find a cure and improve the lives of Canadians with Crohn’s and colitis,” says Rob Trembinski, local honorary chair, in a news release. “It also boosts the morale of everybody affected by Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis. It reminds us all that we are not on this journey on our own.”

The nation-wide event aims to raise $3 million this year, adding to the $48 million raise since the event's start in 1996. More than 3,500 Canadians participated in 2022.

Local participants are encouraged to create a team, or walk as solo supporters or as a family.

Registration is open online.
