Local group sets out to clean up downtown (9 photos)

With the help of the Easter Bunny, a group set out on Friday to help clean up the downtown core of the city

A group of volunteers comprised of several different agencies and backgrounds like nursing and social work, with some help from the Easter Bunny, set out today in the downtown core of Sault Ste. Marie to clean up what springs snow melt has revealed.

The group, operating under the Addiction and Mental Health Advocates umbrella and led by Angie De Simon, set out in teams and were armed with gloves and safety equipment.

They scoured the back laneways and out-of-the-way places where drug paraphernalia could be found.

It has turned into somewhat of an annual event for the group.
