In support of Freedom to Read Week, the public library in Sault Ste. Marie is holding a banned book reading challenge.

The week, the third of February, encourages us to reflect and think about our commitment to intellectual freedom, a news release states.

Starting Feb. 1, participants can pick up their reading sheets at either the James L. McIntyre Centennial Library or the North Branch. Participants will read as many banned/challenged books as possible from the list provided on the reading sheet.

Once you have completed as many of the books as you can before the end of the month, return the sheet to Centennial Library or North Branch and receive a ballot for each book you read.

All reading sheets are to be handed in by February 28. For further information, please contact the North Branch at 705-759-5248.
