Larry Joel Deighton charged with impaired

************************* Speeding results in impaired charge and arrest of passenger

BLIND RIVER, ON - On Saturday May 8, 2010, at 2:26 p.m., an officer from the East Algoma OPP detachment stopped a westbound vehicle on Causley Street in Blind River for speeding.

After a short investigation and speaking with the driver he was arrested for impaired operation of motor vehicle.

Charged is 20-year-old Larry Joel Deighton of Blind River.

Deighton is charged with impaired operation section 253(1)(a) and exceeding 80 milligrams blood alcohol, section 253(1)(b) of the criminal code.

Deighton is scheduled to appear in Blind River court on July 8, 2010.

The passenger in the vehicle was recognized by the officer and found to be breaching a condition of a previous release.

Charged with failing to comply with an undertaking is 19-year-old Robert Raymond Schellekens of Blind River.

Schellekens was arrested and has been held for a bail hearing in Sault Ste Marie on May 10, 2010.
