************************ SIFE Passport Fair returns to Lake Superior State

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI - The Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) chapter at Lake Superior State University is looking to help local residents who have yet to apply for a U.S. passport or passport card with another of its popular passport fairs.

SIFE will hold this year's fair from 3:30-7 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, in the Walker Cisler Center East Superior Room.

Why get a passport?

Because the federal government requires it - a passport book or a "Nexus" passport card - for all travelers coming into the United States by land, sea or air.

"The passport fair is a one-stop-shop to secure your passport and/or passport card," says Cera Josephsen, SIFE event co-organizer, who noted that the fair is open to LSSU students, faculty and staff, and any area residents.

Josephsen adds that the first 30 LSSU students with valid student ID will receive up to $7 off their photo price and $40 off the total price of the passport courtesy of the student government.

The LSSU student life organization Jitters is offering up drinks and snacks.

Adult passport cards cost $55, comprised of a $30 check or money order made payable to the Department of State, and $25 made payable to the Chippewa County Clerk.

Passport Cards for children under 15-under run $35, with a $15 check or money order payable to the Department of State, and $25 check or money order made payable to the Chippewa County Clerk.

Adult Passport Books are $135, including a $110 check or money order made payable to the Department of State, and $25 check or money order made payable to the Chippewa County Clerk.

For children, the cost is $105, including $80 for the Department of State and $25 for the Chippewa County Clerk.

Passport photos on the spot are $10.

Checks and money orders are the only acceptable forms of payment.

Cash, credit and debit cards will not be accepted.

All minor children and parent(s) listed on the birth record must be present at time of application.

Applicants must bring proof of citizenship (an original birth certificate with raised seal or a Naturalization Certificate) as well as valid photo identification.

SIFE is an international non-profit organization that works with leaders in business and higher education to mobilize university students to make a difference in their communities while developing the skills to become socially responsible business leaders.

Participating students form teams on their university campuses and apply business concepts to develop outreach projects that improve the quality of life and standard of living for people in need.
