************************* Robbery being investigated

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is currently investigating a robbery that had occurred early this morning just after midnight.

A female victim was approached by a male with a knife at a bus stop near the east end of the city limits.

The suspect robbed the female of an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as being a native male and approximately six feet tall with long hair and a pony tail.

The victim was unharmed.

************************** Shoplifting

Thirty-three-year-old Richard Levesque of 604 Placid Avenue and Christina Wesley of 165 Tancred Street were arrested at 6:23 p.m. yesterday at Walmart (446 Great Northern Road) for shoplifting.

It is alleged that both accused parties concealed merchandise on their person and left the store without paying.

They were arrested by store security and held for police.

Police attended and charged both accused persons with theft under $5,000.

The accused Wesley was additionally charged with breach of probation as she was on a probation order at the time with the condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior.

************************* Break and enters

- A garage in the 600 block of Goetz Street was broken into where a chainsaw and drill press were stolen.

- A shed was broken into on Spadina Avenue where a skill saw and hammer drill were stolen.

- A residence in the 400 block of Northland Road was broken into where an Xbox game console was stolen.

************************* Mischief and theft re. vehicles

Windows were smashed on two vehicles in the 200 block of St. Georges Avenue East and two vehicles in the 100 block of Wellington Street East (a laptop was stolen).

A vehicle on Hood Street was entered (an iPod and cell phone were stolen)
