The Algoma District School Board (ADSB) won’t say if one of its employees will face disciplinary action after being slapped with impaired driving charges in Parry Sound early Friday morning.

Kiwedin Public School Principal Joseph Derosario was charged while members of the West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint on Bowes Street in Parry Sound around 12 a.m.

“ADSB is aware of the incident,” said ADSB communications officer Fran Walsh in an email to SooToday Friday. “The Board does not comment on personnel matters.”

The 45-year-old was issued a 90-day administrative drivers licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Derosario is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound Sept. 16.
