Kiwanis invites you to help celebrate 85 years

The Kiwanis Club of Sault Ste. Marie is hosting a Community Celebration on Saturday, May 21, 2011, to commemorate the long history of “The Downtown Kiwanis Club.”

Our warmest invitation is extended to everyone to be a part of these events.

Leading off is a Children’s March along Bay Street, starting at 10:30 a.m. from the Civic Centre and ending at the Bushplane Heritage Centre for a kids’ carnival & picnic.

As part of the day-long Kiwanis celebrations, the Bushplane Centre will be open to the public free of charge.

A great way for you and your children to start your holiday weekend!

At 1:30 p.m., please join us at a reception to highlight 85 years of club projects in the community.

The reception is being held at the Ermatinger-Clergue National Historic Site - the “Old Stone House” - from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

The district governor of the Kiwanis Clubs of Eastern Canada & the Caribbean, Paul Toussaint, from Martinique will be with us.

Drop in before the ceremonies and tour this very special National Historic Site.

Following refreshments, visit the Bushplane Heritage Centre, just across Bay Street.

This is a great opportunity for you to explore the Old Stone House and the Bushplane Centre and enjoy some of our 85th Anniversary festivities.
