The winners of Planner's Choice awards are chosen by the magazine's 60,000 readers, most of whom are influential meeting and convention decision-makers.

Readers vote in six categories: hotels, resorts, conference centres, convention and visitor bureaus, convention centres and gaming properties.

In the convention centre category, criteria included helpfulness and expertise of on-site staff, design and quality of convention rooms, food service, technical ability, location, and design and quality of exhibit space.
