Kevin Edwards today received a 12-year prison sentence for assaulting his own 10-week-old son.
Last November, a jury found Edwards guilty of aggravated assault, criminal negligence causing bodily harm and failing to provide the necessities of life.
His son is unable to crawl, walk, speak or hold his head erect for more than a few minutes.
Edwards has been convicted of 56 previous criminal acts including sexual assault causing bodily harm, indecent assault, harassment and sexual interference.
