***************************** Two males arrested on robbery charges

Last night at approximately 11:15 p.m., the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service was called to attend a residence on Gloucester Street regarding a robbery.

Police spoke to a male person who advised that he was assaulted and robbed by three males.

This victim reported that a sweater was stolen from him.

At approximately 11:45 p.m. the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service was once again called to investigate a robbery complaint.

This incident occurred on Cathcart Street near Brown Street.

In this incident, a male was assaulted and robbed of a silver chain.

As a result of quick response and the assistance of the public the police were able to arrest two male persons.

Arrested are:

- Justin McKay, age 20, of 226 Cathcart Street. He is charged with one count of robbery, one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of breach of probation.

- A 17-year-old male. This accused is charged with two count of robbery, two counts of possession of stolen property, two counts of breach of probation and one count of public mischief.

The victim of the first robbery suffered minor injuries but did not attend for medical treatment.

***************************** Two youth arrested for vehicle taken without consent

At approximately 8:20 p.m. yesterday, City Police were called to a West End address regarding a vehicle being taken without consent.

At approximately 10 p.m. police located two young females in the vehicle.

As a result the two girls were arrested and charged.

A 15-year-old female was arrested and charged with one count of taking a vehicle without consent and one count of breach of probation.

A 14-year-old female was arrested and charged with one count of taking a vehicle without consent.

The vehicle was returned to the owner.

Both accused will be appearing in court on July 8.
