June home prices up 36% from last year: CREA

Over 1,295 units were sold in the first six months of 2021 in the Sault area

The number of homes sold in the Sault area in June 2021 reached a new sales record for the month of June.

According to the Canadian Real Estate Association's statistics, home sales were 22.3 per cent above the five-year average and 37.9 per cent above the ten-year average for the month of June.

The number of homes sold in the first six months of the year increased substantially by 84.2 per cent from the same period in 2020.

Home prices for June increased 35.7 per cent from June of last year.

In June 2021:

  • 250 residential units were sold
  • $286,088 was the average price of homes sold
  • 318 new residential listings were posted

To compare, in June 2020:

  • 208 residential units were sold
  • $210,824 was the average price of homes sold
  • 292 new residential listings were posted

In May 2021:

  • 276 residential units were sold
  • $286,899 was the average price of homes sold
  • 343 new residential listings were posted

To compare, in May 2020:

  • 122 residential units were sold
  • $198,409 was the average price of homes sold
  • 172 new residential listings were posted
