Judge rejects bid to close Michigan charter schools

A bid by Michigan's largest teachers' union to shut down 32 charter schools authorized by Bay Mills Community College was rejected yesterday by Ingham County Circuit Judge Joyce Draganchuk.

A bid by Michigan's largest teachers' union to shut down 32 charter schools authorized by Bay Mills Community College was rejected yesterday by Ingham County Circuit Judge Joyce Draganchuk.

The judge ruled that the Michigan Education Association did not have standing to bring three of four counts.

The fourth count was dismissed by the judge.
