******************** Male arrested on warrants

Yesterday afternoon, members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 28-year-old male on warrants.

It is alleged that on June 12, 2008 the accused damaged parking meters on Queen Street East and stole money from the meters.

It is further alleged that on July 22, 2008 the accused stole a bicycle and was in possession of marijuana.

Further, on September 22, 2008 the accused [allegedly] breached conditions of his undertaking and failed to appear for court.

Joshua Smith, age 28 of 244 Albert Street West, upstairs apartment, is charged with one count of breach of an undertaking, one count of failing to appear for court, one count of mischief, two counts of theft under $5,000 and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

************************* Failing to appear for identification

Yesterday morning members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 20-year-old male for failing to appear for prints.

It is alleged that the accused failed to appear at the Sault Ste. Marie Police Station on May 5 for fingerprints.

Tyler Gasparotto, age 20 of 923 Queen Street East is charged with one count of failing to appear for identification purposes.

Mr. Gasparotto is to appear in court on June 27 at 9 a.m.

************************* Mischief

A window at a residence in the 100 block of Estelle Street was damaged.

************************* Theft

- A bicycle was stolen from the 400 block of Douglas Street.

- A small amount of cash was stolen from a vehicle in the 300 block of Fourth Avenue.

- Clothing was reported stolen from the laundry facilities at an apartment complex in the 100 block of Allard Street.
