John Willard Pine charged with impaired

Vehicle nearly sideswiped OPP cruiser

SAULT STE. MARIE,ON - On October 10, 2010, at 8:26 p.m. an OPP officer on patrol was travelling westbound on Trunk Road when a silver Dodge van approached at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle then swerved into the lane causing the police cruiser to take evasive action and pull over to the curb to avoid a collision.

The vehicle was stopped and further investigation revealed that the driver had been drinking alcohol.

Thirty-eight-year-old John Willard Pine of Orlando, Florida was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving while exceeding 80 milligrams blood alcohol content.

The accused was released on a promise to appear at provincial court on November 8, 2010.
