Two members of the Sault Ste. Marie Airport Development Corporation (SSMADC) took the opportunity to provide a presentation to the Lukenda School of Business Senior Class on Labour Relations and Collective Bargaining.

On Thursday, Mar. 1, 2018 Board Member Joe Krmpotich with an extensive background in Union and President & CEO Terry Bos with experience in management and the collective bargaining process with the SSMADC attended to LSSU to give an hour and a half talk on the SSMADC, as well as some history on employer / employee relations and the collective bargaining process.

The session was another opportunity for the SSMADC to provide back to the community and surrounding area and share experiences with some very bright students.

The students were very active in asking questions and keeping the discussion flowing throughout the entire one and a half hour class session.

The experienced members within the SSMADC Board provides for a great breadth of knowledge to allow for such a presentation to take place and to provide for both union and management perspectives of the collective bargaining process.

Students were provided an overview of how both parties prepare for and participate in the collective bargaining process, dispute resolution when needed, monetary vs. non-monetary items, and collective agreements and the rights of both employer and employee within a collective agreement.
