************************* Mischief, theft

On Sunday July 18, members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 20-year-old male for mischief and theft.

It is alleged that the accused attended at the Wardlaw Fuels convenience store on Wellington Street West and broke a window.

It is further alleged that the accused then stole some candies [not exactly as illustrated].

Jesse Desa, age 20, of 174B Highway 17 East, Garden River, is charged with one count of mischief and one count of theft under $5,000.

Mr. Desa will be appearing in court on August 23 at 9 a.m.

************************* Breach of probation

On Friday July 16, members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 43-year-old female and charged her with two counts of breach of probation.

It is alleged that the accused breached conditions of her probation release order by consuming alcohol and not keeping the peace.

Charged is Lore-Lei Gabow, age 43, of 235 Poplar Avenue.

************************* Assault

On Sunday July 18, members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 56-year-old female and charged her with one count of assault and two counts of breach of an undertaking.

It is alleged that on July 16, the accused assaulted a male known to her.

It is further alleged that the accused breached conditions of an undertaking release order by molesting and annoying the same victim.

The male suffered minor injuries but did not require medical attention.

Charged is Linda Karchie, age 56, of 285 Cathcart Street.

************************* Mischief and threatening

On Saturday July 17, members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 46-year-old male and charged him with one count of mischief and one count of threatening.

It is alleged that on Saturday July 17, the accused damaged a door at the complainant’s residence.

It is further alleged that the accused then threatened to kill the complainant.

Charged is Michael Harris, age 46, of 332 Albert Street West. Mr. Harris will be appearing in court on August 23 at 9 a.m.

On Sunday July 18, members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 38-year-old female for theft.

It is alleged that the accused entered the Wal-Mart Store and stole $388.20 worth of DVDs.

Accused was apprehended by store security and turned over to City police.

Charged with one count of theft under $5,000 is Diana Brown, age 38, of 345 St. George’s Avenue Apartment 221.

Ms. Brown will be appearing in court on August 23 at 9 a.m.

************************* Theft

On Sunday July 18, members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 46-year-old female for theft.

It is alleged that the accused entered the No Frills Store on Korah Road and stole $30.83 worth of meat products.

Accused was apprehended by store security and turned over to police.

Charged with one count of theft under $5,000 is Paula Derasp, age 46, of 137 East Street Apartment 403. Ms. Derasp will be appearing in court on August 23 at 9 a.m.

************************* Break and enter

- An apartment in the 100 block of Cambridge Place was entered. A small amount of cash was reported stolen.

************************* Theft

- An iPpod was stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of MacDonald Avenue.

0 A mountain bike was stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Allard Street.

- Patio furniture was stolen from the 500 block of Wilson Street.

- Flower planters were reported stolen from the 200 block of Great Northern Road.

- A wallet was stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Vesta Place.

- Electronics were stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Princeton Drive.

************************* Mischief

- A vehicle was damaged in the 100 block of Market Street.

- A window at a residence in the 100 block of Grace Street was reported broken. Two youth were seen running from the area. One is described as having blond hair. The other was wearing a red jacket.
