If you'd like to be involved in sprucing up the James Street area, you'll want to attend a community forum at the Soup Kitchen (172 James Street) during the evening of Wednesday, February 15.

The session starts at 7 p.m. and will launch the James Street Neighbourhood Project - A Preliminary Study for the Revitalization of Jamestown.

Special guest speakers will include the Honourable Ray Stortini, Ward 4 Councillor Rick Niro, Police Chief Robert Davies, local business owners and the City planner.

Meanwhile, Algoma University business students plan to gather other views through a door-to-door survey of residents in the vicinity.

The revitalization of the James Street neighbourhood is the dream of Mr. Stortini.

He was raised in the West End and has chronicled his experiences in a book called Only in Canada.
