9 & 10 News is reporting this morning that an inmate has escaped from Newberry Correctional Facility.
Kevin Burg was seen working on the prison grounds about 2 p.m. yesterday, wearing an orange jumpsuit.
Burg is described as 195 pounds, six feet tall.
He was imprisoned on a break and enter charge.
Special checkpoints were operating last night at both the International Bridge in Sault Ste. Marie and at the Mackinac Bridge.
