Time was, it sucked big-time to work at the Sea Lamprey Control Centre on Canal Drive. The research facility, which opened in 1966, had concrete floors and lacked proper laboratory ventilation. It was infested with mice. No more.

The Sault's 44-year-old sea lamprey centre and other Fisheries and Oceans Canada operations have been moved to the the recently renovated fourth floor at the Great Lakes Forestry Centre.

The lamprey shown above were watching from a display tank in the centre's lobby as an official opening ceremony was held on Thursday.
