(EDITOR'S NOTE 4:30 PM - Since the original version of this article appeared on SooToday.com, Vivek Kundra's MS in Information Technology degree has surfaced, although the technology czar didn't get it at the University of Maryland, as the White House claimed on March 5.

Kundra got the degree from University of Maryland University College (UMUC) a separately accredited institution that issues its own degrees.

In a blog update posted this afternoon, Dvorak says he has other issues about Kundra's claimed qualifications, including a still-missing biology degree and his claim to have been CEO of what turns out to have been little more than a one-man operation.)

Here's a story that SooToday.com suspects you'll be reading about in mainstream media in days to come.

John C. Dvorak, longtime columnist for PC Magazine and weekly tech columnist for Dow-Jones Marketwatch, has been poking into the qualifications of Vivek Kundra, appointed earlier this year by President Barack Obama as the first chief information officer of the United States.

Dvorak's findings, posted moments ago on his personal blog are, well, kinda interesting.

Dvorak, whose online columns have won national awards from the American Business Editors Association, says that his bunny-ears about Kundra's IT qualifications first went up when he heard him talking on CSPAN.

"He simply did not sound like someone who studied computers or technology. His common referrals to Twitter and Google Docs as some sort of high-tech breakthroughs and a way to save money and empower the public stemmed from pure cornball pop culture and the blogosphere, not from computer science or information technology.... His clichés and commentary were that of a 18-year-old blogger who just got their first Macintosh."
