NEWS RELEASE

ROGERS COMMUNICATIONS

***************************** Veteran local television personality Lou-Anne Young will be returning to the air in Sault Ste. Marie in March as co-host of the EZ Rock Morning Show.

Young will assume the role of morning show co-host along with Scott Turnbull as well as morning news anchor on the Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario radio station owned and operated by Rogers Media.

Young's broadcasting career began in 1984 and she is most recognized in Sault Ste. Marie as the anchor of the CTV Evening News.

Since Young's position with CTV was phased out and moved to Sudbury, she has been involved in marketing and community relations for the United Way, Collegiate Heights Retirement Residence, Sault College and the Bay Front Quality Inn.

She has been honoured for her work in broadcasting and the community with the Sault Star Readers Choice Award, the Media Tribute from the Ontario Community Council on Impaired Driving and the Media Award from the Sault Ste. Marie Kidney Foundation.

She has served on boards and committees of Habitat for Humanity and the Red Cross, and has been emcee for numerous charity events and celebrations in the Sault.

Young says she's "really excited by the prospect of returning to broadcasting and working with a partner on the air. I've done a lot of things on radio and television over the years but I haven't done this and I'm looking forward to a new challenge."

Current EZ Rock Morning Show host Scott Turnbull says: "Lou-Anne and I have been friends for a long time and I'm really looking forward to working with her. She's friendly, she's funny, she's well connected in the community and she's going to be a great addition to the show and if I'm any more complimentary she'll have to pay me."

EZ Rock Assistant Program Director James Warner-Smith says a female perspective in the morning will build on an already great show.

Scott and Lou Anne are both tremendously creative people and it was obvious from the beginning of this process that they're going to be very comfortable together and a lot of fun to listen to.
