************************* Theft

Yesterday afternoon, members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 19-year-old male for theft under $5,000.

It is alleged that the accused male attended at the Wine Rack Store, 44 Great Northern Road and stole a bottle of wine valued at $9.95.

The accused was apprehended by the manager and turned over to police.

At the time of this offence the accused was on a probation order release.

Brooks Warmington, age 19, of 503 Trunk Road Apartment 220 is charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of breach of probation.

Mr. Warmington is to appear in court on May 9 at 9 a.m.

************************* Warrant

Yesterday morning, members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 28-year-old male on a warrant.

It is alleged that Corey Peplow failed to appear for identification on January 10.

It is further alleged that Mr. Peplow also breached conditions of his probation order release.

Corey Peplow, age 28, of 371 Wellington Street East, is charged with one count of failing to appear for identification and one count of breach of probation.

************************** Assault

Early this morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 46-year-old female for assault.

It is alleged that the accused assaulted his common-law spouse by punching him in the face and scratching his neck.

The victim did not require medical attention for his injuries.

The accused is charged with one count of assault.

************************** Warrants

Early this morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested an 18-year-old female on several warrants.

It is alleged that the accused failed to appear for court on September 20, 2010 and November 16, 2010.

It is also alleged that the accused failed to appear for identification on June 29th, 2010.

The accused was originally arrested on June 12 as a young person, for mischief.

The accused is charged with two counts of failing to appear for court, one count of failing to appear for identification and one count of mischief.

************************* Mischief

Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 31-year-old male for mischief.

It is alleged that the accused male damaged a fire sprinkler system, while in custody at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre.

Louis Mallette, age 31, of no fixed address is charged with one count of mischief.

Mr. Mallette is to appear in court on May 2 at 9 a.m.

************************* Break and enter

City Police investigated two break and enters yesterday.

- A residence in the 1600 block of Wellington Street East was entered - it is unknown what was taken at this time. Medications were stolen from a break-in at a residence in the 100 block of Tancred Street.

************************* Mischief

- Vehicles were reported damaged in the 300 block of Albert Street East and the 600 block of Case Road.

************************* Theft

- A stove and a dryer were stolen from a residence in the 700 block of People’s Road.

- A purse was stolen from the 300 block of John Street. Car batteries were stolen from the 400 block of Fifth Line East.
