On Oct. 30, 2016, city police responded to a motor-vehicle collision at the corner of Pine Street and McNabb Street. No one was injured in the collision. 

Police investigation revealed that one of the drivers had been drinking and he was given a road side alert test. It is alleged that he failed the test and was brought to the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service building and given a breath test. It is alleged that the male failed the test. 

The accused stands charged with having care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired and having care and control of a motor vehicle with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol in his blood. 

The accused Paul Deschene, age 48, is scheduled to appear in court on December 5, 2016 at 9:00 am.
