***************************** LSSU names presidential search committee

SAULT STE. MARIE - Lake Superior State University has named a presidential search committee to find a replacement for former president Rodney L. Lowman, who recently resigned.

The committee includes 11 members who represent a variety of areas, including the LSSU board of trustees, faculty, staff, administration, alumni, the LSSU Foundation and the community.

Chaired by LSSU trustee Patrick K. Egan, the committee includes fellow trustee Scot Lindemann; Jim Bourque, LSSU Foundation; Collette Coullard and Barbara Keller, LSSU faculty; Jeff Harris, LSSU Steelworkers; Nancy Neve and Ken Peress, LSSU administrative professional staff; Mickey Parish, Bay Mills Community College President; Kahler Schuemann, LSSU alumnus and Karizma Vance, LSSU student.

The search committee held its first meeting recently and will continue through the summer.

It will be discussing search methods when it meets again on July 8 before reporting to the LSSU board of trustees during its meeting on campus July 10.

Sault Ste. Marie resident Tony McLain Ph.D was named interim president by the board of trustees earlier in June and will serve until a successor is named.
