The Centre for Social Justice and Good Works (The ‘Centre’) is excited to announce the Grand Launch of its permanent free Recreation Programs on Nov. 18, 2017 called ‘I Love To Move’ for children between the ages of 6-13 years old.

This program is in partnership with Canadian Tire's Jumpstart organization, Sault Ste. Marie Police Services and YMCA. The Centre is pleased to announce that the Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart organization has awarded The Centre with $20,000 in funding for the ‘I Love To Move’ program.

‘I Love To Move’ is a permanent and free program on Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. running in four locations throughout the city:

  • The TECH (130 Wellington Street East)
  • Holy Family Catholic School (42 Rushmere Drive)
  • Rosedale Public School (90 Chapple Avenue)
  • Queen Elizabeth Public School (139 Elizabeth Street)

Due to a scheduling issue the program will not be held at Queen Elizabeth on Nov. 18 but will resume at that location the following week on Nov. 25.

For the first time ever, the Sault Ste. Marie Canadian Tire Store is number one in Canada when it comes to the money raised for the Canadian Tire Jumpstart program and has been awarded $20,000 to be used within the community.

Sault Ste. Marie YMCA has been a tremendous supporter of this initiative and plays a critical role in making certain that the children get the funding they need. The Centre would like to thank Canadian Tire Jumpstart and all its partners for their valuable support in making this vision a reality.

The Centre is committed to having a positive and lasting impact on Sault's youth community by providing them the opportunity to get active and have fun while ‘creating positive change together’.

The Recreation programs run on Nov. 18, Nov. 25, Dec. 2 and Dec. 9 in 2017 and will continue in 2018 starting Jan. 13.

We welcome all participants and volunteers to come and have an enjoyable Saturday morning filled with sports, fun games, recreational activities and snacks. All drop-ins are welcome at the four locations. To register or volunteer, please contact:
