Highway 17 at Village Road, Cutler, Ontario is now open in both directions.

************************* Original release - 6:21 p.m.

CUTLER, ON - Ontario Provincial Police advise that there are traffic delays on Highway 17 at Village Road, Cutler, Ontario due to a gathering of people.

Approximately 150 to 200 people moved on to the roadway following an information session at the Pow Wow grounds on Serpent River First Nation.

Traffic flow is being allowed through in alternating lanes at 15-minute intervals.

A vehicle is also blocking the Huron Central Railway at this location.

The OPP is monitoring the situation and negotiation with First Nation Elders is ongoing.
