Hwy 17 bypass connection work to start Monday

ECHO BAY, ON. - Motorists who regularly travel on Highway 17 east of Echo Bay can expect a temporary detour starting next Monday.

The construction company building the new bypass has indicated that, starting on Monday morning, they will be connecting the new bypass to the existing highway.

There will be a detour around the work area as well as a reduced speed limit in the area.

Workers on the site have asked the OPP to conduct radar patrol in the area because of motorists traveling well in excess of the speed limit in the construction area.
