Sandra Turco and Gary Trembinski will remain in their roles as chair and vice-char of the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board trustees following a meeting on Wednesday evening.

Following is a full release on from the H-SCDSB announcing the decision:

The leadership of the Board of Trustees of the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board will remain the same next year. Sandra Turco and Gary Trembinski were both returned to the position of chair and vice-chair respectively at tonight’s monthly meeting of trustees at the Mount St. Joseph Catholic Education Centre in Sault Ste. Marie.

Turco was acclaimed to her position as chair.

“I want to thank our staff and all others who have worked with me over this past year. Even though I have been a trustee for over 20 years I learned a lot this past year as Chair. I made it a point to reach out to previous chairs and vice-chairs to get their input on various issues. I really appreciate your support tonight and I look
forward to working with you again over the coming year,” Turco said.

Trembinski will also be serving his second term as vice-chair.

“I believe Sandra and I worked very well together over the past year and I am confident the same will hold true in 2022. I appreciate the support I received and will continue to collaborate with my fellow trustees to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students, families and staff,” said Trembinski.

The next Board of Trustees meeting is scheduled for Jan. 19, 2022.
