************************* Driving too fast can really slow you down

GARDEN RIVER FIRST NATION, ON - On Thursday, April 10 around 4 p.m. an OPP officer conducting stationary radar patrol on Highway 17 near Belleau Lake Road stopped a Toyota Camry car traveling westbound at an excessive rate of speed.

The driver was clocked at a speed of 175 km/hr.

The posted speed limit in this area is 90 km/hr.

Charged under the stunt driving legislation is Hugh Lougheed, 68 years, of 108 Allard Street, Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.

Mr. Lougheed had his driver’s license suspended for seven days and his vehicle impounded for seven days at the scene.

He received a summons for court for May 14, 2008.
