NORTHSHORE TWP, ON - On September 3, East Algoma OPP were called to Highway 538 in the Northshore Township after a Hydro employee was assaulted.

The Hydro employee was in the area conducting smart-meter installations.

After advising a homeowner that the power would be shut off briefly, the homeowner got upset as they were in the middle of doing something that required power.

After the new meter was installed, the employee was met outside by a male who began arguing with her, which resulted in the Hydro employee being assaulted by the male.

Charged with assault is 73-year-old Yves Lecoarer of Northshore Township.

Lecoarer is scheduled to appear in Blind River court on November 5.
