Okay, folks - it's time once again to step up to the plate for one of our own.

Former Sault resident Berenika Zakrzewski ranks among the planet’s best young classical pianists.

In fact, many admirers believe this remarkable talent is without equal.

Berenika’s star will shine even brighter should she claim top spot in a major online competition now underway.

But to finish first, this remarkable musician needs support - in the form of votes - from her hometown.

Voting instructions and additional information are contained in the following note from a loyal SooToday.com reader and dedicated Berenika fan.

************************* Hello,

Berenika Zakrzewski is a young classical pianist with extraordinary talent who spent most of her early years in Sault Ste. Marie.

As a teen she attended the prestigious Juilliard School in New York, then Harvard University, and now Oxford University in England.

Her father Voyteck still lives here and is a research scientist at the Ontario Forest Research Institute.

Berenika has enchanted audiences across the world and right here in Sault Ste. Marie with her talent and charm.

Currently, Muso magazine, a publication for classical musicians and enthusiasts, is featuring Berenika as a contestant in an online competition to find the world's hottest young classical musicians.

Berenika was in first place a few days ago but has now slipped to third.

Perhaps her many fans in Sault Ste. Marie would like to be informed that they can help send a local-girl-made-good back to the top of this competition.

To vote, they should click here. Click all five stars before submitting your vote!

Sincerely,

- Abby Obenchain, a local fan
