************************* Sault Area Hospital appoints new director of communications and public affairs

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON - (September 15) - Sault Area Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of Mario A. Paluzzi as the director of communications and public affairs for Sault Area Hospital (SAH), effective October 6.   Mario will be responsible for the delivery of communications services, government liaison, volunteer activities and compliance with requirements under the French Language Health Services Act.   Born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Mario has deep roots in the community, augmented by a wealth of advertising, marketing and public relations experience.

For over seven years, Mario has been employed as a communications officer in FedNor’s Sault Ste. Marie office, providing communications materials and support related to FedNor activities in the region.

Prior to his position with FedNor, Mario spent 14 years in the advertising industry in Toronto, most recently as a vice-president, group account director for a major Canadian agency where he worked with clients such as Molson Breweries, TSN, Hitachi, Simmons and Avis, among others.

Mario holds an honours bachelor of science degree from the University of Toronto and a master of business administration degree from the Schulich School of Business, York University.

His diverse experience with various organizations in both the public and private sectors will serve him well in his new role, providing SAH with a valuable addition to the team.
