High-risk takedown in Hearst

OPP NEWS RELEASE ************************* HEARST, ON - Today, the Hearst Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police arrested a suspect in regards to a series of violent crimes in the Hearst area. The arrest, which was conducted by the OPP Tactical and Rescue Unit (TRU) was assisted by the Regional Emergency Response Team, the local detachment members and crime unit. It took place on 9th Street in Hearst at approximately 3:30 p.m. this date. The suspect, Jean Jokisch, age 46 years, who had relocated to Hearst recently, was arrested without incident and transported to the Hearst Detachment. Jokisch has been charged with robbery, assault causing bodily harm and breach of probation for the Hearst incidents.

Jokisch will be held in custody until court, in Cochrane, Monday morning.
