The Sault Ste. Marie Public Library says a basket weaving workshop scheduled for later this month has been cancelled.

Original story below:

When you hear the term "basket weaving course," it's usually slang for an easy class.

But this class is definitely for real: a basket weaving workshop is being offered by the Sault Ste. Marie Public Library later this month.

Local craftsperson Judy McGonigal will lead participants through the event on Saturday, April 27 at the James L. McIntyre Centennial Library.

“Learn the historical craft of basket weaving and at the end of the day, you’ll have handcrafted a gorgeous basket of your own,” the library said in a news release.

The workshop costs $25 and space is limited to 10 people.

To register, call 705-759-5236.
