************************* May 11, 2010 - The Children’s Aid Society of Algoma, Algoma Family Services and Community Living Algoma are pleased to announce the launch of our joint foster parent recruitment campaign.

We have come together to respond to a shortfall of foster families in Sault Ste. Marie and within the District of Algoma.

The theme for our campaign is “Here and now – your help is needed.”

This theme stems from recruitment staff in all three agencies frequently hearing a message conveyed that many people have thought about fostering for some time before they call to inquire.

Many who have or are thinking about helping a child as a foster parent may not be aware of the current shortfall.

This campaign will culminate in a ‘come and go’ information session where the community is welcome to speak with current foster parents and staff to have their questions about fostering answered.
